The Code
Note: Offenses contained herein will be decided either through arbitration or through civil court procedure. Arbitrary offenses are punished directly by the Judicators, while civil offenses are heard before the court and will be judged by the forums as a whole.
Note: The Hobobox is exempt from all crime.
Note: The Code of Offenses only applies out of character, except in the cases of metagaming and godmoding.
Arbitrary Offenses
Disrespect for the law
Definition: Should you disobey the procedures set forth by the law, you will be charged with this offense. This offense cannot be contested except in the case of absence or ignorance of the law.
Sentence: Disrespect for the law carries a maximum ban of 5 days at the discretion of the Judicators.
Severe spamming
Definition: Should you spam the forums beyond possible redemption, such as creating a great deal of topics that make absolutely no sense or posting many incoherent replies, you will be charged with this offense. This offense cannot be contested except in the case of account hijacking.
Sentence: Severe spamming carries a maximum ban of 3 days at the discretion of the Judicators.
Severe threatening
Definition: Should you threaten another member of the forums to an extent that is unreasonable and for no good reason, you will be charged with this offense. This offense cannot be contested except in the case of account hijacking.
Sentence: Severe threatening carries a maximum ban of 5 days at the discretion of the Judicators.
Civil Offenses
Breach of privacy
Definition: A breach of privacy has occurred when a member of the forums reveals something about another member that the other member does not wish to be known publically.
Sentence: Breach of privacy carries title replacement and avatar disablement for 5 days. In certain cases, it may warrant a 3-day ban at the discretion of the plaintiff.
Godmoding
Definition: Godmoding is the unlawful exertion of power within a roleplaying world. For example, godmoding includes, but is not limited to: controlling another person's character or nation, performing acts of 'invincibility', having insanely advanced weapons or technology for the era, having disproportionately powerful abilities, etc.
Sentence: Godmoding carries a fine of 15% of the defendant's zen if the defendant is found guilty, and a 5-day replacement of the defendant's avatar. The evidence will also be deleted and filed into the Judicator's logs.
Metagaming
Definition: Metagaming is using OOC knowledge IC. For example, if you know that your enemy is in a hidden underground base, and your character has not actually found that out, your character can not know this.
Sentence: Metagaming carries a fine of 10% of the defendant's zen if the defendant is found guilty, and a 3-day disablement of the defendant's avatar. The evidence will also be deleted and filed into the Judicator's logs.
Minor spamming
Definition: A minor amount of spam that is only slightly obtrusive. For example: replying in one phrase to several topics without contributing anything to the discussion, or posting a random string of letters.
Sentence: Minor spamming carries a fine of 5% of the defendant's zen if the defendant is found guilty.
Severe flaming
Definition: Severe flaming is composing a post that contains next to nothing but insults and personal attacks. This includes large bouts of sarcasm, as well.
Sentence: Severe flaming carries a fine of 10% of the defendant's gold, as well as a 3-day avatar replacement.
Slander
Definition: Slander is attacking another person's character or reputation in an injurious manner.
Sentence: Severe slander carries a fine of 5% of the defendant's gold, as well as a 3-day title replacement.
