Well, I suppose I should start this topic on my own thoughts towards communism.
I think that communism is a very beautiful concept, and that Karl Marx had an excellent theory in mind when he developed the "
Communist Manifecto." "All great ideas start as blasphemies." A place where working benefits everyone, not just yourself is a much more balanced system than current Capitalism. If a place worked more in that form of unity than our cities do now, there would be less poverty, less social differences and simply a better overall living style.
Alas, anything grand that depends too much on human nature is also a thing that would suffer the same thing that humans would. Corruption. It seeps into where there is least resistance, and can stop the grandest ideas short. Because Communism depended too much on humans and human morals, corruption was easily affected by it. Communism crashed down and became a corrupt system, creating an opposite of Marx's vision. Blame this on Stalin, among other people.
I think that a mix of communism, or better yet socialism, with capitalism, like Canada is now, is the best way to go. It provides a small social difference, so works rewards the person much more, but also allows there to be a social safe net. Free health care, and welfare are examples of this social safe net.
I think that's basically everything I have in mind. Post more later!
