Although I've long learned not to argue with you at all, especially when the subject involves magic, I need to do something here.
Not only do the Protoss have psionic abilities, but they have shields and heavy armour. The zealot is no exception; it wears heavy armour and has a personal shield. If you think gauss bullets and randomly-fired tank shells are going to pierce an energy shield easily, you're wrong. Would a high-speed spike be able to pierce the Enterprise's shields? What about a shell?
As far as game balance is concerned, you have not played the Protoss in a long time. The zealot takes the longest of all starting units to build, and it costs the most at double what a marine costs and quadruple what a zergling costs. While a zealot will likely kill two marines easily, and probably four lings, it gets weaker as the masses grow larger (including the mass of zealots), especially against zerglings. Yes, it is powerful against marines; you know why? Marines can attack air units. This is why the whole game does not revolve around the starting units. Marines are also an ideal defense when placed in bunkers. They also get stim packs and, when a group of four is coupled with a medic, can easily take out zealots, as the stim pack damage is healed quickly.
On the other hand, there's no point disputing what you think of the Force, as it is impossible to really argue over magic. I don't really care for the Force myself, preferring normal systems of magic.
But yeah, whatever.
