The whole world is crumbling around me, a hardrive failure, a video card failure, a modem failure(believed induced by lightning. At least I gain comfort in the fact that my shiny new laptop will be here soon.

Video card on my pc died, modem and hard drive on the mac, we bought the hard drivew from a seperate manufactuer though and it is still under warrenty as is the video card.

Anyway my acess is still somewhat eratic, I think I might blame oblivion for the video card even though my settings were on minumum, although I am sure the problem must have come from a lack of adequate cooling.

Such an inactive forum, I wonder if anyone will read this..

Although I think a modem, hard drive and video card failure probably top that.

It's interesting, because my video card tells me when it approaches a dangerous core temperature, and it's never had to, even when I'm playing Oblivion. What was your video card? I don't think it would be one to kill itself by overheating.

Meh. Don't expect any other replies. Schmidt is gone, Azgoroth and Sassoon are gone, Element is insane...

Yeah, I have yet to receive mail from any of those people.

We have the old video card in the PC now and I am accessing the internet via its modem.

The sad thing is that I am already looking at potential upgrades for my laptop regarding memory and storage. It has a sweet processor though, Intel core duo 2.0Ghz.

Why the hell did everybody conspire to leave at the same time, now my gathering options are decreased, I am now limited to having a sligthly diminished LAN, a RISK gathering, small group or single invitee gathering and the small group would hardly be a typical small group assortment.

Oh, and the satelite remote also seems to have broken...

It seems that somebody in my household has angered the Gods...

I miss Oblivion, I was in the process of aquiring recomendation for the mages guild. Oh well at least I became Grand Champion and Silencer.

Yeah, sorry about not being on MSN, but I only get up at about 3:00 most days, and I was watching various anime series. I went through Elfen Lied (German for Elf Song) which was amazing, as well as extremely scarring. I would look it up on Wikipedia (just skip the spoilers.) Then I went through all of Gundam SEED Destiny, which was about 10x better than Gundam SEED and may have topped Wing in my opinion. This was mainly because it was impossible to tell who was the "villain" for most of the series, and at the end, the "villain" was trying to better the world. ZAFT is very cool throughout.

Anyway, I should be able to get on MSN at some point. I'm watching Neon Genesis Evangelion, though, so we'll see.

Silencer is a Dark Brotherhood rank, no? My character before my hard-drive format was Archmage (Mages Guild), Listener (Dark Brotherhood), some random rank in the Fighter's Guild, Grand Champion in the arena, as well as a member of the Order of Virtuous Blood and the Knights of the Thorn. Good game. Crappy engine (nice graphics, but it could run better, and people look grotesque.)

not much i can add other then i'm alive, i have Empire at War and wish there were more people around and on TeamSpeak.

Once I have mynew computer I will try teamspeak, despite my crap connection. I am not on MSN/GTalk currently becuase they are not on this computer and it would be a waste of time to DL stuff. Anyway i managed to save all my files from the dead hardrive which are now breing backed up further on DVD.

Well Element EAW is supposed to work with dial up perhaps we should coordinate a game at some point.

EDIT: Also I will try to post in our various RP segments once I have my shiny new computer. Of course in the eventuality that I do start posting again expect that to diminish or stop while I am gone.

Well I just removed the defective hardrive. If only there was something noticeably wrong with it physically, that would be cool. Meh with the 7 fans I suppose heat damage gets ruled out, I suppose it must have been a bit of a dud since it is only about a year old...Perhaps it spun too much? Meh.

Well today we brought in the hard drive and video card. The video card will be repaired or replaced under its warranty and should be available by the end of the week free of charge.(Porter lakes computer shops, name not recollected, rating 5 starts of 5) and the hard drive was replaced immediately with a hard drive with 40 ewxta gigs "for our trouble" at Green Lyph, also 5 stars. We also got some head phones at future shop, best audio quality I have ever heard. A modem should be shipped to a third store by the end of the weak as well, I give this store a four out of five.(some Apple reseller store, good service but some things are overpriced, IE RAM)

So all seems to be going well.

My laptop shipped from China today and is estimated to arrive Friday.

Please excuse my spelling as of late since this is not the keyboard that I am accustomed to.

I suppose you're getting the MacBook? What color? Anyhow, congratulations on the new laptop! Tell me if it is a good laptop, since I'm wondering how much of an improvement it is over mine, the iBook G4.

Anyway, I feel sorry for your hardware failures... heh. That's a load of bad luck. :S

And, Zenithan, you forgot about me in your "don't expect any replies" post... *shakes hand*.

Anyhow, please, either of you, come on MSN some time. I'm going rationally insane from lack of people to chat to.

Laptop is in Alaska, that is correct it has arrived upon our continent.

Well it is in Tennessee according to the last update, that covers most of the horizontal distance looking on a map but they went further down than they had to...
